Alexandra

One minute Alexandra and her dad were on their way to a friend’s house. The next minute a car crashed into theirs and turned their world upside down. Alexandra was only 10 years old. “It was a miracle she wasn’t hurt worse,” says her dad, Jeremy. “The car flipped several times.”

Alexandra had a serious head injury. She spent time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise, and received care from neurologists and rehabilitation specialists. Her fearless spirit, combined with her parents’ love and the dedicated care of her pediatric specialists at St. Luke’s Children’s, has led to an amazing recovery.

“Her recovery has been near-miraculous,” says Dr. Jacob Neufeld, her physiatrist at St. Luke’s Children’s. He led a rehabilitation team of physical therapists, occupational therapists and others who helped her heal and recover. Today her future is full of possibilities—as big and bright as her smile.
