Meet Our Parent Mentors

Sarah

Sarah is a mentor for parents caring for a child with celiac disease, functional abdominal pain, and/or eosinophilic esophagitis. She also offers mentorship related to gastroenterology care services.

I am a mom and advocate for two awesome boys. My oldest son was diagnosed with celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. Both of my kids love to camp, fish and ride roller coasters. Our family is just like any other family, but we have some major differences in our day-to-day life to manage an autoimmune disease.

In our new normal, I have learned that being part of a community that understands the challenges and successes is so important. I look forward to listening and learning because each journey is unique and each one of us matters!

You are not alone.

Caring for a child with complex medical needs can be complicated and overwhelming. Support from someone navigating similar challenges can make all the difference.
