While our formal Magnet designation applies specifically to our Boise and Meridian hospitals, ambulatory, cancer care services, home health/hospice and St. Luke’s Rehabilitation inpatient unit, we strive to adhere to the Magnet culture of excellence throughout the health system. Our Magnet program provides a framework to recognize the highest level of nursing quality in:

  • Management philosophy and practices of nursing service
  • Adherence to standards for improving the quality of care
  • Leadership of the chief nurse executive in supporting professional practice and continued competence of nursing personnel
  • Attention to the cultural and ethnic diversity of patients and their significant others, as well as the care providers in the system

Excellence in Nursing

  • Magnet Education Series

Online training to support understanding of what it means to be Magnet designated and why it's important to St. Luke's to strive for and maintain this designation.

  • Nursing Peer Review

Evaluation of a nurse’s professional performance by like peers helps identify opportunities to improve care and acknowledges exemplary nursing practice.

  • Nursing Recognition

We are honored to offer opportunities to recognize the extraordinary contributions nurses make every day for their patients. Awards supported include the Best Practice Award, DAISY Award, and more.

  • Nursing-Sensitive Quality Indicators

We monitor and contribute to reports from the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators® to evaluate nursing care at the unit level.
