St. Luke's Clinic – Physician Center: Twin Falls, Pole Line Rd.

Serving people in the Twin Falls region, our team sees people of all ages, through all phases of life, whether you need preventive care or treatment for a specific condition or acute illness. We promote the concept of a medical home, emphasizing a continuous relationship with a personal physician coordinating care for both wellness and illness. We believe that knowing you over many years, and knowing your family, helps us understand how your healthcare impacts your life.

At our clinic, we offer a wide scope of services, including women’s health (non-OB), diabetes management, vasectomy, and more. We also provide expert pediatric care for babies, kids, and teenagers, including circumcision, immunizations, behavioral health care, and physical exams for school and sports. If your condition requires a specialist, we’ll help refer you to the appropriate provider.

As a member of the National Health Services Corps, we promise to serve all patients. This means we promise to:

    Biography

    Robert Adams, MD specializes in caring for children with a wide range of congenital and acquired heart diseases. His particular interest lies in imaging modalities, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography.

    As a core part of his practice, Dr. Adams prioritizes communication with families, referring providers, and outside referral centers. He and his staff recognize that cardiac referrals for children can be a scary experience, so they make a particular effort to educate families and put them at ease. 

    Dr. Adams earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Georgia before attending medical school and completing his residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where he also served as chief resident. After completing his fellowship training at NYU Medical Center, he moved to Idaho with his wife and pets, who were thrilled to explore Idaho's wide open spaces after years in a tiny midtown Manhattan apartment.

    Dr. Adams and his wife love to explore Idaho’s natural beauty and enjoy biking, camping, and hiking with their dogs. They also love to travel and have had the privilege of serving the Syrian refugee community alongside a church in northern Jordan for several years.

    Patricia Conner, NP earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Boise State University and a master's degree in nursing, family nurse practitioner, from South University.  She has always had a passion for working in pediatrics and also has special interest in female reproductive health.

    Patricia is a long-time Idaho resident who enjoys many local outdoor activities with her husband and children.

    Stephanie earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Brigham Young University–Idaho, her bachelor's degree in nursing from Nevada State College, and her family nurse practitioner's degree from Graceland University.

    Matthew Hunt, PA-C truly enjoys working in family medicine. He is passionate about preventive health care and practices what he preaches: eating a healthy diet, prioritizing regular exercise, and feeding the brain positive content to support a healthy mind. Before focusing on family medicine, he worked at a hormone clinic where he gained extensive experience treating low testosterone in men.

    Matthew earned his master's degree in medical science from Lincoln Memorial University, where he was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society.

    In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, travel, photography, chasing storms.

    Biography

    Joshua Hutchinson, LCSW has many years of diverse experience in mental health. He specializes in infant mental health and child development (0 to 5 years), addiction recovery, depression, stress and anxiety management, and leadership development.

    Josh employs several modalities of evidence-based treatment in his practice including solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral strategies, and other mindfulness practices. He also has extensive training in using dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) with individuals and groups. In his current role, Josh works closely with medical providers to offer patients a team-based approach to high-quality mental health care. Josh has a passion for service and is always prepared to help others in professional and community settings.

    Josh earned his master’s degree in social work from Louisiana State University. He is married with three children and is committed to maintaining balance between his professional and personal life. At home, he is passionate about applying values consistent with good mental and spiritual health. 

    In his free time, Josh enjoys spending time with his family in nature and exploring Idaho. He and his wife also enjoy traveling the world.

    Biography

    Gregory Jones, MD cares for children of all ages, from newborns to teens. With decades of experience, he sees himself as responsible to his community for the overall wellness of kids in his care. While he truly enjoys every aspect general pediatrics, Dr. Jones has special interest in caring for patients with type 1 diabetes, asthma, Down syndrome, chronic medical conditions, and/or behavioral health concerns. He also cares for newborns with complex medical needs. He has extensive experience supporting hospitalized patients, in pediatrics and in the NICU. 

    "I just love taking care of children," Dr. Jones says. "I'm interested in their challenges and problems. I want to position them for success as they grow." He is also passionate about educating, supporting, and empowering parents to raise their children with confidence from birth through young adulthood. He adheres to evidence-based practice and prefers a conservative approach to testing and medication.

    Dr. Jones earned his bachelor's degree in zoology from Brigham Young University, with minors in chemistry and Spanish. 

    In his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys being outside as much as possible. You may find him road biking, mountain biking, running, hiking, gardening, or supporting his children in their 4H projects.

    Biography

    Andrew Jones, MD cares for children from infancy through adolescence. He enjoys preventive medicine and ensuring appropriate child development, helping children make choices with their families to help them succeed in the future. 

    Dr. Jones earned his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Utah and completed his pediatric residency through C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining St. Luke's, he gained experience working with rural populations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings as a pediatrician in Arizona.

    Biography

    Steven Kohtz, MD is a family medicine physician with special interest in geriatric medicine and teenage medical care. He also has extensive experience performing vasectomies. He is passionate about meeting patients where they are, with the patient as the head of the health care team and the physician acting as a trusted counselor.

    Dr. Kohtz serves on the board of trustees for the Idaho Medical Association (IMA) and is the current president-elect. He also works within St. Luke’s as a medical director, partnering with other primary care providers to drive the highest possible quality of care.

    Dr. Kohtz earned his bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Idaho. He completed medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

    Originally from Twin Falls, Dr. Kohtz loves growing up and growing old alongside his patients in the tight-knit agricultural community his family has lived in for generations. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, and fly fishing. He also loves supporting his daughters' interests in dance, gymnastics, cross country, and piano.

    Gordon Mack, MD cares for children with a wide range of congenital and acquired heart diseases. His particular interests lie in echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and pediatric thrombosis. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He trained in pediatric cardiac catheterization and pediatric clots in Edmonton.

    Ryan Melvin, DO enjoys taking care of a broad spectrum of medical patients. His medical interests include preventive health, lifestyle medicine, dermatological procedures, pediatrics, women's health, and geriatrics.

    Dr. Melvin graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor's degree in biology. He earned his doctoral degree in osteopathic medicine from Midwestern University's Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and attended the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho through the University of Washington.

    In his free time, Dr. Melvin enjoys fishing, skiing, upland bird hunting, and spending quality time with his family. He is also involved with his local school board.

    Biography

    Mitchell Moffitt, MD practices the full spectrum of pediatrics in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He is passionate about providing a medical home for the children of the Magic Valley, from the healthiest to the most medically-complex. He has considerable experience attending in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and continues to care for many NICU graduates with complex medical conditions as part of his outpatient practice.

    Dr. Moffitt believes in providing evidence-based, compassionate care and is committed to educating and empowering parents and other caregivers to be partners in medical decision making. He also believes that pediatricians have a duty to collaborate with parents, schools, and community members to find creative ways to keep kids safe, prevent disease, inspire achievement, and prepare them for bright futures.

    Originally from Twin Falls, Dr. Moffitt served a church mission in Ecuador, where he became fluent in Spanish. Today, he cares for a sizable Hispanic population in his practice. He is passionate about global medicine and enjoys caring for the children of refugee families. He also teaches neonatal resuscitation internationally.

    Dr. Moffitt earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah where he also worked as an EMT, performed as a percussionist, and volunteered with at-risk children and non-English speaking families. After medical school at the George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his residency in pediatrics at Madigan Army Medical Center, where he was involved in pediatric malnutrition research in Honduras and summer camps for children with severe disabilities.

    After his residency, Dr. Moffitt served as a general pediatrician in the U.S. Army in Germany and Iraq. In Germany, he served as chief of pediatrics, instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), director for all Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training courses, and a member of the emergency cardiac care, patient rights, ethics, sexual assault review, and command obesity process action committees. He was also awarded the Army Achievement Medal for his leadership during a wave of meningococcemia cases in the area. While deployed to Iraq, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service as a forward-deployed field surgeon, as well as the Outstanding Young Pediatrician of the Year award by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

    As a physician leader, Dr. Moffitt has served as the regional pediatric site medical director, a representative on Kids Congress, and a member of the medical executive committee.  As a physician educator, he has served as an NRP and PALS instructor, the pediatric representative on the graduate medical education committee, and is an adjunct clinical faculty member at both the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.

    In his free time, Dr. Moffitt loves to hike, kayak, and camp with his family. He also enjoys restoring vintage VWs, drum sets, and electric trains.

    Katie Quayle, MD is a pediatrician with special interests in preventive care, mental health, and working with adolescents. She sees children of all ages, from babies through teens, and loves the continuity that primary care pediatrics offers, including the chance to form long-term relationships with her patients and their families.

    Dr. Quayle's philosophy is to take care of the whole child, because where a child lives, her family, diet, and interests all contribute to her health. And as more and more children struggle with mental health, it falls to the pediatrician to take a role in emotional health as well as physical health.

    Dr. Quayle is originally from Massachusetts, where she attended both college and medical school.

    Biography

    Richard Sandison, MD has special interest in adult medicine, including the elderly.

    Dr. Sandison earned his medical degree from the University of California, Davis, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He also completed an internship in family medicine at Marshall University, where the faculty named him resident of the year. Next, Dr. Sandison and his wife moved to Africa, where he worked in a mission hospital in rural Kenya. Upon returning from Kenya, he finished his family medicine residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Sandison has worked as a family physician in Twin Falls ever since, except for a one-year sabbatical spent serving a medical mission in Ecuador.

    Dr. Sandison and his wife are the proud parents of three adult daughters. In his free time, he enjoys ultra endurance sports, sailing, and listening to great novels.

    Biography

    Skyler S. Shippen, MD practices the full spectrum of family medicine, including women's health and pediatrics. He has special interest in international medicine and adolescent medicine, and enjoys working with patients who have disabilities.

    Dr. Shippen is passionate about community service. He has volunteered for the Special Olympics as a basketball coach, and worked with Journeys Development Disability Agency as a volunteer and field trip coordinator. He also organized and taught diabetes seminars in the West Indies and raised money to fund local availability of glucometers, test strips, and diabetes education. 

    Dr. Shippen studied medicine internationally at Ross University School of Medicine and completed his medical school rotations at Central Michigan University. Prior to his medical education, he served an LDS mission in Madagascar and earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University - Idaho. 

    Originally from Idaho, Dr. Shippen grew up on a cattle ranch. He is married with four children and loves playing electric guitar, fishing, dirt biking, and helping his kids raise 4H animals.

    John Trotter, MD is a pediatrician with special interests in asthma and behavioral health  concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, and depression.

    Dr. Trotter earned his bachelor's degree from Davidson College and his master's degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He completed residencies at the University of Arkansas Health Sciences Hospital/Arkansas Children's Hospital – where he served as chief resident – and Princess Mary Hospital for Children in Auckland, New Zealand.

    In his free time, Dr. Trotter enjoys woodworking and bird watching.
