Cardio-oncology Program

Cardio-oncology focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and management of the cardiovascular health of people undergoing cancer treatment. Many cancer therapies can damage the heart and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, sometimes during treatment and sometimes years later. A cardio-oncologist specializes in managing the cardiovascular health of cancer patients and cancer survivors.

Our providers include a dedicated physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, registered nurse, medical assistant and a scheduler/program coordinator. Their combined expertise, along with close care coordination with the St. Luke's oncology team, ensures that patients receive timely, comprehensive care. In addition to the team at St. Luke's, we've started a multi-state collaboration with the cardio-oncologists at the University of Washington and the University of Utah to discuss cases and keep current on the latest research.

If you have existing heart disease or are high risk for heart disease and are currently receiving cancer treatment or are a cancer survivor, you may benefit from our cardio oncology program.
