St. Luke's Clinic – Travel Medicine and Immunizations

The goal of our travel medicine clinic is to help you prepare for a safe and healthy overseas experience. When you visit us, you’ll meet with a travel medicine provider to discuss your destination and itinerary and identify any immunizations and/or tests that are recommended or required for your trip. You’ll also receive educational material specific to the countries you’ll be visiting, including current health risk information and travel advisories from the U.S. State Department. We’ll provide an international certificate of vaccination as approved by the World Health Organization and any prescriptions needed to prevent illnesses such as malaria, travelers’ diarrhea, cholera, altitude sickness, and motion sickness.

In order to be properly prepared for your trip, please visit our clinic at least six weeks before your planned departure, as some vaccine series require several weeks to complete and reach full effectiveness. Please bring a printed, detailed copy of your itinerary and printed immunization records with you to your appointment. Bring any childhood records or international certificates of vaccination (yellow book), as well.

We are able to accept walk-ins for flu shots and COVID vaccinations for adults and children ages 12 and older. We are not currently administering COVID vaccine to children younger than 12. For all other types of appointments, we are not able to accommodate patients without an appointment. We also request that you avoid bringing your children to the clinic unless they have their own scheduled appointment.

FAQ List Rendering

Click each question below for its answer:

Can I bring my whole family at once?

We request that you avoid bringing children to the clinic unless they have their own scheduled appointment. When a family is traveling, we schedule parents for an initial longer visit to review all details for the family. The children will be scheduled for a shorter visit following the parent visit.

Do you bill insurance?
Yes, we bill insurance, but this does not guarantee payment. Your insurance may or may not cover charges for clinic visits and immunizations. Please check with your insurance provider to find out what is covered. You will assume full financial responsibility should your insurance decline to cover all or part of the services provided.
How long should I plan for a travel visit?
Expect up to a one-hour comprehensive visit. The length of your visit will depend on a variety of factors (i.e., the complexity of your travel itinerary).
Are you a VFC provider?

We provide state funded vaccines for children who are traveling internationally and provide COVID and flu vaccines. Children needing routine vaccines are referred to their primary care provider or the health department.
