At St. Luke’s Children’s Treasure Valley Pediatrics, our team of pediatricians is dedicated to building a relationship with your family to support your child’s health, every step of the way. Each of our physicians is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and specializes in the needs of infants, children, and adolescents.

    Weekend hours are available by appointment at our Parkcenter Blvd location in Boise and our Celebration Ave location in Meridian. One of our physicians will always be on call. If you need to inquire about your child's illness or injury when our office is closed, please call (208) 345-0715 and follow the prompts to leave a message for a triage nurse. In most cases, we will be able to respond to your call within 2 hours. If the physician needs to be involved, the triage nurse will contact him or her for you. Please limit your calls to urgent problems that cannot wait until office hours. We recommend that you take your child to the emergency room for emergencies only.

    Biography

    Lisa M. Barker, MD, FAAP enjoys the teamwork of pediatrics and the challenge of working with children of all ages, infants through adolescents. She believes in caring for her patients and their families in a thoughtful and personalized manner, partnering with parents to determine how to best care for their children.  

    Dr. Barker has special interests in providing education to medical students and engaging in legislative advocacy on behalf of children.  

    Outside the office, Dr. Barker enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, son, and two spunky family dogs. Originally from Boise, she loves spending time outdoors exploring beautiful Idaho. She also enjoys personal fitness, crafting, reading, and traveling.

    Biography

    Shauna Ellefson, MSN, APRN, NP-C is a family nurse practitioner specializing in pediatrics. She cares for her own panel of patients, as well as sick patients scheduled for same-day visits. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. 

    Shauna began her career as a pediatric RN in the inpatient setting. She also has experience working in pediatric otolaryngology, which helped advance her ear, nose and throat (ENT) assessment skills. She recognizes the importance of including the family in a wholistic approach to patient care.

    Shauna earned joint bachelor's degrees in nursing from Gonzaga University and Seattle University. She received a master's degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner, from Idaho State University. 

    In her spare time, Shauna loves spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy camping, swimming, biking, golfing, and playing tennis.

    John W. Hanks, DO, FAAP is a pediatrician with professional interest in eating disorders and adolescent medicine. He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Truman State University. He went to medical school at A.T. Still University of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. He is accepting newborns and new patients on a limited basis. 

    Dr. Hanks is married with four sons, two daughters and two grandchildren. His hobbies include hiking, camping, and skiing.

    Biography

    Lisa Labor, MD is a general pediatrician who cares for children from birth through 18 years of age. She has particular interest in early childhood, as well as procedural expertise in circumcision, sutures (superficial), splinting, and wart removal. Dr. Labor is passionate about ensuring shared decision making with her patients and their parents. She provides reasonable options so families can decide which approaches will work best for their lifestyles and schedules. She is accepting newborns and new patients on a limited basis.

    Dr. Labor earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Portland and went to medical school at the University of Washington. She completed her internship and residency at the University of New Mexico, where she was recognized as an exceptional intern teacher.

    Dr. Labor is married with two daughters. Her hobbies include sewing, playing with her energetic children, and spending time outdoors.

    Biography

    Elsa Lee, MD, FAAP is a general pediatrician who cares for children from birth through adolescence. While she enjoys all facets of pediatric care, she has additional interest, based on personal experience, in breastfeeding and infant and toddler food allergies. She enjoys discussing parenting books, commiserating about excessive screen time and helping families make informed decisions about the health care needs of their child.

    After completing her internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Dr. Lee spent three years in Chinle, Arizona, working for the Indian Health Service. Since moving to Idaho, Dr. Lee has served as the physician coordinator for WIC, the breastfeeding champion for the Idaho AAP, and the social media presence for Treasure Valley Pediatrics in addition to a variety of administrative roles for St. Luke’s Children's pediatrics.

    In her free time, Dr. Lee can be found in the great outdoors, often with her husband, their two teenagers and the family dog. If the trails are too muddy, she’ll be at home reading, cooking or knitting.

    Biography

    Khristine Lanuza Miller, MD, FAAP is a general pediatrician with a broad range of interests including preventive care and disease management for children from the newborn period until adolescence; treatment of infectious and respiratory problems; and management of developmental delays, ADHD and mental health problems. Dr. Miller also has special interest in acute care and performing minor surgical procedures such as laceration repair, removal of a foreign body, ligation of extra digits, and circumcision. She enjoys working with families to develop treatment plans and goals for a healthy life. 

    Dr. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of the Philippines, where she was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and graduated magna cum laude. She attended medical school at the University of the Philippines as well, graduating seventh in her class. Prior to her formal training in pediatrics, she spent a year working in various emergency rooms in the Philippines. Next, Dr. Miller completed her pediatric residency training and internship at Wayne State University/Children’s Hospital of Michigan where she served as assistant chief resident in her last year. 

    In her free time, Dr. Miller enjoys adventure travel, mountain biking, road biking, trail running, swimming, triathlons, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her husband.

    Biography

    Andrea Prasch, MD is a pediatrician who truly enjoys caring for children of all ages, from newborns up to age 19. Her particular interests include breastfeeding medicine, milk soy protein intolerance (MSPI), vaccine advocacy and adhering to the standard CDC-recommended immunization schedule, allergies, dermatologic conditions (including acne), oral contraceptive advice and information, and children with special needs.

    Dr. Prasch earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Rocky Mountain College in her hometown of Billings, MT. Next, Dr. Prasch attended medical school at the University of Washington through the WWAMI program as a Montana student. She completed her residency at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital. 

    In her free time, Dr. Prasch enjoys mindfulness, meditation, reading, biking, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.

    Biography

    Eric D. Roy, MD, FAAP is a general pediatrician who enjoys managing a wide variety of pediatric conditions, working with children and families from birth to 18 years of age. He places a focus on preventive care and establishing a consistent medical home for his patients. He strives to deliver thorough and thoughtful care for his families with particular interest in the areas of developmental delay, school struggles, and dermatologic conditions.

    Dr. Roy earned his bachelor's degree from the College of Idaho, graduating summa cum laude.  After earning his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, he completed his pediatric residency at the University of Utah/Primary Children’s hospital before returning to Idaho.

    Dr. Roy serves as medical director of St. Luke’s Clinic – Treasure Valley Pediatrics and is on the clinical excellence committee. He has worked to help standardize a high quality of pediatric care in the Treasure Valley. He is accepting newborns and new patients on a limited basis.  

    Outside the office, Dr. Roy loves spending time with his wife, son, and twin daughters.  He enjoys swimming, golfing, reading, traveling, and coaching his kids in basketball.
