    Biography

    Nadine Carter, DNP, FNP-C earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Idaho and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Idaho State University. She earned her Doctorate of Nurse Practice for Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Nadine worked as a float pool nurse at St. Luke's in Boise, where she first became passionate about caring for people with diabetes, eventually becoming a diabetologist. Nadine also spends several weeks each year as a medical staff and cabin counselor with Idaho Diabetes Youth Programs at Camp Hodia.

    Biography

    Richard B. Christensen, MD serves as the medical director of Humphreys Diabetes Education Center. Dr. Christensen completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Washington. He then pursued five years of advanced fellowship training, research, and teaching in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Washington before entering practice in Boise.

  • Biography

    Sherwin D'Souza, MD, FACE is a diabetologist, focusing his practice on diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and obesity. In 2015 he was inducted as a fellow into the American College of Endocrinology. He enjoys teaching and has lectured throughout the United States. Dr. D'Souza also serves as medical director of the Physician Assistant Program at Idaho State University.

    Lisa Sanders, PA-C earned her bachelor's degree in health science studies with a psychology minor from Boise State University while also working in the St. Luke's Boise CCU/COU as a unit clerk and nurse assistant. She earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Loma Linda University. Lisa is experienced in endocrinology.

    Sharene Watsen, PA-C earned her bachelor's degree in biology and religion from Gustavus Adolphus College. She earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Oregon Health & Science University. Before becoming a physician assistant she worked as a nursing assistant and phlebotomist.

    Michael is a board certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and master’s degree from the University of Oregon. He is a graduate of the Nova Southeastern University of Physician Assistant Studies program.
