Biorepository Research

A biorepository collects and stores small amounts of biospecimens (blood and tissue) and related medical information for future medical research purposes.

St. Luke’s Biorepository was founded in 2014 to provide high-quality human biospecimens with the goal of furthering medical research. St. Luke’s Biorepository currently provides biospecimens to research companies and universities.

Biospecimens are used in research to find more effective diagnostic testing, treatments, and prevention for diseases.

The St. Luke’s Biorepository currently collects only human biospecimens for oncology research.

Areas of Focus

  • St. Luke’s Biorepository currently collects tissue samples to aid in cancer research.
  • The majority of our biospecimens come from lung, prostate, and ovarian samples.
  • St. Luke’s Biorepository plans to expand into other areas of research.
