Children's Specialties Research

We understand that research provides us a unique opportunity to help our children and their families live happier and healthier lives. Specialty research is expanding at St. Luke’s Children's and currently spans five therapeutic areas:

  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Endocrinology
  • Pediatric rehabilitation
  • Pediatric ophthalmology
  • Pediatric gastroenterology

Our work includes pharmaceutical-based research on new drugs, therapies, and medical devices. We collaborate on research with universities, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical companies to further our understanding of diseases and treatments.

St. Luke’s Children’s specialty research is home to a team of highly trained physicians, nurse practitioners, and research personnel. One of our research team members has been nationally recognized as a leading enroller in an NIH-funded diabetes program. We have received over $1 million in grant funding since 2007 and have been noted as a contributing research site to numerous publications, including the New England Journal of Medicine, for our contribution to the development of breakthrough cystic fibrosis medications.

We're always looking for more patients to participate in the groundbreaking treatment options our clinical trials offer, and we encourage anyone with interest in learning more about specialty research at St. Luke’s Children’s to call us at (208) 381-8937 or send us an email
