About Kaitlyn R Smith

Biography

Kaitlyn “Katie” Smith, MS, CCC-SLP is a medical speech-language pathologist with a certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology. She brings diverse clinical experience across skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation centers, long-term acute care and acute care hospitals.

Katie is deeply committed to patient-centered care, with a strong emphasis on life participation and helping individuals achieve their personal goals for greater independence and engagement—particularly within the vibrant Wood River community. Her clinical interests include augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), voice therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease (SPEAK OUT! program), cognitive-communication disorders and the evaluation and treatment of dysphagia (swallowing disorders).

Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. She later moved to Idaho to pursue her master’s degree at Idaho State University in Meridian. Outside of work, Katie enjoys whitewater rafting, trail running, skiing and competing in mountain and gravel bike races.
