St. Luke’s expands care and access through new retail pharmacy in Fruitland

After nearly 10 months of planning and construction, the St. Luke’s retail pharmacy in Fruitland has opened its doors to patients. The St. Luke’s pharmacy team and members of the community recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new pharmacy.

Located next to the St. Luke’s Cancer Institute in Fruitland, the new pharmacy offers prescription pickup and drop-off options through curbside and drive-thru services. The curbside service allows patients to drive up to a marked pharmacy parking stall, call the number posted at the spot and have their prescriptions brought directly to their vehicle. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

Kelley Curtis, vice president and chief pharmacy officer, says the opening of the new retail pharmacy aims to significantly enhance health care access for both patients and the public in the Fruitland community.

“This new facility is not just a pharmacy; it's a vital addition to our community's health care resources. Positioned adjacent to the cancer institute and hospital, it offers unmatched convenience for patients to fill their prescriptions immediately after their appointments,” Curtis highlights.

Further enriching the pharmacy's appeal, Curtis adds, “We're proud to introduce both drive-through and curbside pickup services, ensuring that our services are as accessible and convenient as possible for everyone.”

Reflecting on the immediate impact of the pharmacy, Curtis shares, “Our St. Luke’s Fruitland employees are already benefiting from the convenience of the new pharmacy. Previously, they had to make a trip to St. Luke’s Nampa for their prescription needs. Now, they have immediate access right here in Fruitland.”

The St. Luke’s retail pharmacy in Fruitland was made possible by the generous support of the St. Luke’s Health Foundation. “The Fruitland community has always been so supportive of us and we’re so grateful to support this new retail pharmacy that will help more patients,” says Christen Wilmer, director of major/planned gifts for St. Luke’s Health Foundation.
