St. Luke’s Health System has joined a Boise initiative aimed at providing evidence-based support for those experiencing chronic homelessness.
St. Luke’s contributed $100,000 to the Housing First initiative, which provides support and services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and financial counseling. Saint Alphonsus Health System also contributed $100,000 to Housing First, and both health systems are participants in the Roundtable on Housing and Homelessness, which includes more than 40 members.
Services and support offered through Housing First will help people who are chronically homeless address the root cause of their homelessness.
