Broadway Avenue Bridge Meeting Dec. 2; Bridge Closure in January

By Chereen Langrill, Notes and Announcements
November 25, 2015

The Idaho Transportation Department is replacing the Broadway Avenue Bridge as part of improvements planned for the roadway between University Drive and Front Street. Patients, visitors and employees using Broadway Avenue to access St. Luke’s Boise should plan ahead to avoid delays.

A public open house on the project will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Washington Group Plaza, Central Plaza Training Room, 720 Park Blvd., Boise. If you attend the meeting, enter the building by the water feature on the Park Boulevard side.

Broadway Avenue (between University Drive and Front Street) is expected to close in January. Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured around the construction zone for about nine months. Additional details to know:

  • Broadway Avenue will be closed from Cesar Chavez Lane to Myrtle Street
  • Motorists will be detoured to the Parkcenter Bridge
  • Greenbelt detours will be clearly marked
  • Crews will work 24/7, and some of the work will be noisy
  • Business access will remain open

More information about the project can be found through the Idaho Transportation Department’s Broadway Bridge web page.
