Letter from Fruitland's Mayor

By Dr. David C. Pate, News and Community
August 12, 2014

Fruitland is very grateful and proud of the investment that St. Luke’s has been making in our community.  The access to medical services, specialties, and treatment is a great benefit to the entire western Treasure Valley.

As I said at the grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the new facility, having these local services opens up many opportunities for folks to get the medical care they need. Seniors who are worried about traffic and the distance to Boise otherwise would need to find family or friends who were willing and had the time to drive them. Others who do not have the extra time to drive over and back due to work or family commitments now have the ability to seek the help they need.

This new facility will give a wonderful foundation to support the many services already offered, and the addition of the emergency department will save lives.

From the city’s perspective, it has been a pleasure to work with the staff and leadership at St. Luke’s to move this project forward.

Fruitland is very proud to see St. Luke’s grow in our community and in turn help us to grow – healthy and strong.

Ken Bishop

Mayor of Fruitland
