About Jeffrey L. Mulert

Biography

Jeffrey Mulert, MD is a general pediatrician who cares for patients in the hospital, newborn nursery, and outpatient clinic. His main goal is to provide quality, compassionate pediatric care for newborns, infants, toddlers, children, and teens in the Magic Valley and surrounding communities.

Dr. Mulert is currently serving as pediatric department chair at St. Luke's Magic Valley. He previously served as medical director for Safe Kids Magic Valley. He is also a clinical instructor for both the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho and the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Mulert earned bachelor's degrees in biology and Spanish from Pomona College. Prior to medical school, he received a Fulbright-Garcia Robles fellowship to study corn plants in Mexico. He then served a two-year volunteer LDS mission in Chile. These experiences formed lasting impressions on him and strengthened his desire to care for and serve others.

After graduating from medical school at the University of California San Diego, Dr. Mulert completed his pediatric residency at Michigan State University - Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies (now Western Michigan University), where he served as chief resident. During this time, he received the Arnold Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award for mentoring medical students and "practicing patient-centered medicine by teaching ethics, empathy, and service by example."

In his spare time, Dr. Mulert enjoys hiking, photography, writing music, church service, dutch-oven cooking, and spending time with his wife and six children.
