St. Luke's Clinic – Orthopedics - Hip & Knee

Our integrated team of specialty trained physicians and physician assistants collaborates to evaluate and treat common and complex conditions of the hip and knee. Our goal is to provide you with knowledge and understanding to help you recover from injury or impairment. We’ll evaluate your goals to develop a personalized treatment plan as a cornerstone to a successful outcome. As surgeons, we focus first on non-surgical management of your condition whenever it’s safe and effective.

We specialize in conditions such as osteoarthritis and muscle tumors of the hip and knee. And our surgeons have extensive experience with procedures such as arthroscopy, computer-assisted total joint replacement, and reconstructive hip and knee surgery.

    Biography

    Bradley Heninger, PA-C sees patients in the clinic and assists during surgeries.

    Brad grew up in the Treasure Valley and earned a bachelor's degree in zoology at Idaho State University. He completed his master's degree at Touro University Nevada. In his free time, he enjoys sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his wife and kids.

    Benjamin Kerns, PA-C is a certified athletic trainer. He earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training and sports medicine from Eastern Washington University and his master's degree in physician assistant studies from Idaho State University.

    Biography

    Ronald M. Kristensen, MD specializes in hip and knee replacements as well as problems involving the lower extremities. Dr. Kristensen is a founder of the St. Luke's Joint Center, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. After completing his lower extremity fellowship in Seattle, he moved to Boise, where he advanced lower extremity reconstruction, having performed over 1,000 computer-assisted hip and knee replacement surgeries. He has worked with the early development of custom cutting jigs and has implemented advanced multimodal pain management techniques to minimize postoperative discomfort.

    Dr. Kristensen serves on multiple committees for St Luke’s. He has been active in teaching and research with numerous publications, as well as lectures regarding the management of arthritic problems. In 2005, Dr. Kristensen was elected as one of the Best Doctors in America by his peers and currently holds this nomination. It is Dr. Kristensen’s goal to return his patients to pain-free daily activities as well as recreational activities including golfing, biking, and skiing.

    Biography

    Jeffry P. Menzner, MD is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He has a keen interest in improving the entire experience of patients undergoing joint replacement, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery and rehabilitation, and credits the development of a hospital-based joint replacement center for greatly improving the safety, comfort, and recovery of his hip and knee replacement patients. He works closely with sarcoma patients.

    Dr. Menzner completed a fellowship in orthopedic oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital in association with Harvard Medical School. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a master's degree in health care delivery science from Dartmouth College. 

    Dr. Menzner served on active duty as a U.S. Air Force orthopedic surgeon. He has served on area hospital committees on patient safety, orthopedic supervisory, physician advisory, and credentialing. He is a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and is a founder of the St. Luke's Joint Center.
