Hematologic Malignancies

St. Luke’s MSTI’s Hematologic Malignancies program provides treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic disorders, and other less common blood cancers. Our care team also offers autologous bone marrow/stem cell transplant at St. Luke’s Boise. We focus on your quality of life while providing novel therapies, access to clinical trials, and supportive care, close to home.

    Biography

    Krishna C. Alluri, MD, is an oncologist/hematologist. He earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He completed his hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, where he served as chief fellow.

    Biography

    Rafael Arteta-Bulos, MD is fellowship trained in oncology/hematology. He earned his medical degree in Lima, Peru, where he also earned his master’s degree in health policy. He completed his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

    Biography

    Mallori Hooker, RN, MSN, NP-C, AOCNP works in medical oncology/hematology. She is nationally certified as an advanced oncology nurse practitioner from the Oncology Nursing Society, and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Oklahoma and her master's degree in nursing from Texas Woman's University.

    William Kreisle, MD is the medical director of St. Luke's MSTI's Blood and Marrow Transplant program. Dr. Kreisle earned his bachelor's degree from Stanford University.

    Dan Zuckerman, MD is the medical director of St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute. His special interests include gastrointestinal cancers and colorectal cancer.

    Biography

    Norman Zuckerman, MD has special interest in anemias and genitourinary cancers. He continues to be passionate about oncology, especially as newer targeted therapies and symptom control medicines are prolonging life and improving quality of life for his patients. As the director of the Integrative Medicine program at St. Luke’s MSTI, Dr. Zuckerman considers all options – conventional and alternative – worthy of discussion.

Procedures & Treatments

  • We offer autologous transplants (using your own stem cells) and syngeneic transplants (using cells from an identical twin).
  • Extracorporeal photopheresis is a type of treatment that can be used for patients with problems associated with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.

  • Plasma exchange removes plasma from a patient's blood and replaces it with donor plasma before it is returned to the body.
