About Alexander Zouros, MD

Alexander Zouros, MD is board certified in pediatric and adult neurosurgery (ABPNS and ABNS) and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He developed an interest in childhood brain and spine surgery in medical school, and has extensive research experience in pediatric spine trauma and instrumentation and has taught courses in complex brain endoscopy.   • I don’t have enough words to explain how much we love and appreciate Dr. Alexander Zouros. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I’ve ever met! And he explains complicated, scary things in a simple, compassionate way. We feel so blessed to have him as our doctor!

  • Saved my son’s life! I should have written this years ago. Dr. Zouros was a godsend. My son had a significant, complex spine surgery out-of-state in 2019. We flew back to Idaho a month later, and he ended up having a major spinal leak. My son was literally gushing spinal fluid out of his back as we sped to the ER. I was holding him on my lap and my lap was soaked. Dr. Zouros repaired the leak, which involved a major blood transfusion and using my own son’s tissue to patch the spinal column because his body had rejected the other surgical patch. It was one of the scariest moments of our family’s lives, and we were so grateful that Dr. Zouros moved to Idaho for that moment. The hospital staff all joked afterwards that we “broke him in.” Seven years later and my son is doing beautifully--playing sports, no issues. I was just recommending Dr. Zouros to someone else and realized he deserved (at a minimum) a good Google review in gratitude from our family.
