About Christopher D. Streeter

Biography

Christopher Streeter, MD is a child psychiatrist working with young people at St. Luke's Children’s Center for Neurobehavioral Medicine. He has broad experience with individual, family, and systems-based neurobehavioral issues, and has a passion for transforming children suffering from mental illness and enjoys seeing his patients recover from adversity, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other issues.

Dr. Streeter has served as Health and Welfare psychiatry subject-matter expert for the Idaho Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and has made several advocacy appearances on television. He has provided expertise for government panels and consultative support for policy decisions at the state level and is a member of the Idaho Children are Primary legislative policy advisory committee.

Dr. Streeter has a strong interest in education and is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Idaho College of Medicine. He is also an adjunct instructor for the University of Washington psychiatry residency programs. 

Dr. Streeter began his career in the Navy/Marine Corps, at one point serving a tour in Afghanistan as a forward deployed psychiatrist. His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal. In addition to his military commendations, St. Luke’s has honored him with the President’s Award for outstanding service to his patients. 

In his free time, Dr. Streeter enjoys spending time outdoors backpacking, skiing, and hiking with his wife and two sons.
