Ellen Ruiz, MS, OTR/L, is a pediatric occupational therapist specializing in treating children with feeding difficulties. She is passionate about a holistic and family-centered approach to feeding with connection being at the forefront of therapy. She utilizes a play-based approach to all feeding interventions to make sessions fun and approachable.
Ellen’s certifications include the SOS Approach to Feeding; Beckman Oral Motor, SOFFI: (Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants); and Feeders and Growers: the Neurobiology of Swallowing and Dysphagia.
Ellen uses her extensive pediatric experience to help guide treatment. Ultimately, her goal is to empower children and their families to foster meaningful connections, increase confidence, and improve the family’s understanding of the connection between their child’s regulation, feeding experiences, and development.
Ellen earned both her bachelor's degree in therapeutic studies and her master's degree in occupational therapy from Boston University. In her free time, Ellen enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
