About Misa D. Perron-Burdick

Biography

Misa Perron-Burdick, MD provides pregnancy and reproductive health care for all ages. She has expertise in pelvic pain, vulvar disorders, family planning (contraception), and transgender care. She also has a special interest in caring for pregnant patients experiencing substance use disorder and mental health conditions.

Dr. Misa supports low-intervention birth and is privileged to partner with her midwife colleagues to provide a safe, patient-centered model of care. As a surgeon and specialist, Dr. Misa also cares for patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies or delivery complications. Above all, Dr. Misa believes in informed and patient-led decision-making. She feels honored to care for patients and their families through joyful and challenging times.

Dr. Misa grew up in the small town of Nome, Alaska, before moving to Seattle where she received a degree in Japanese Language from the University of Washington. She spent the first 10 years of her career working in public health with underserved communities. She is a volunteer associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at UCSF and a clinician volunteer at Terry Reilly Health Services.

Dr. Misa moved to Boise to be closer to family and to enjoy a slower-paced lifestyle. She lives with her partner of 21 years (originally from Boise), two children, and a menagerie of pets.  When not at work, you can find her recreating recipes from the Great British Bake Off, paddleboarding down the Boise River, and bribing her children to go to bed on time.
