Zachary Morairty, MD practices adult and geriatric psychiatry, with an emphasis on late-life depression, dementia, and memory problems.
Dr. Morairty has a breadth of clinical knowledge and expertise in anxiety disorders, psychosis, and both bipolar and major depression. He is trained in many psychotherapeutic techniques, such as CBT, DBT, MI, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He has specialty training in cognitive disorders like Alzheimer's disease and the interface of medical and psychiatric conditions such as catatonia.
In addition, Dr. Morairty is an electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) practitioner. He has had extensive training in ECT and has given numerous talks on his robust results with the procedure.
Dr. Morairty is president-elect of the Idaho Psychiatric Association and has served as an Idaho representative for the American Psychiatric Association. He serves on mental health boards for the Crisis Center and Health and Welfare, and teaches residents and students.
