About Lydia J. Missal

Biography

Lydia Missal, LCPC is licensed as a clinical professional counselor in Idaho and Montana. She treats individuals ages 13 and up, couples, and families. She is trained as an eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner and utilizes a variety of techniques such as dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing tools. She is a proponent of mindfulness-based interventions, including breathing and yoga strategies. Her theoretical orientations are influenced by relational, mind-body, developmental, and attachment theories. 

Lydia earned her master's degree in counseling psychology with a concentration in adventure-based psychotherapy from Prescott College. Her professional experience has allowed her to practice in a variety of settings, including wilderness therapy, school and community mental health, and women's advocacy. She is also a yoga teacher and Reiki master.
