Khoa Luong, MD is a pediatric hospitalist – a pediatrician who provides inpatient medical care for hospitalized infants, children, and adolescents. Dr. Luong is fascinated by the human body and the amazing resilience of children. In addition to treating each child's symptoms, his interest in medicine and physiology promote constant exploration of underlying causes and risk factors in order to prevent future reoccurrences.
While it’s difficult to see sick kids in the hospital, seeing their smiling faces as they leave the hospital makes it all worthwhile for Dr. Luong. Children recover faster at home, surrounded by their loved ones, and his philosophy is expedition of care in the hospital to promote safe and timely discharge.
Dr. Luong also has special interest in medical education and improving patient care and safety through electronic medical technology. He is passionate about teaching medical students, residents, and medical staff colleagues. In his role as medical director of clinical informatics, he works with his team to enhance our St. Luke's electronic medical record (EMR) system to align medical care with recommended guidelines and current evidence and prevent medical errors.
In his free time, Dr. Luong enjoys spending time outdoors and maintaining an active lifestyle.
