Luke Brewton, MD works with youth at St. Luke's Children's Day Treatment Center and is a board certified child psychiatrist. He specializes in treating anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and other mood and thought disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. He loves helping adolescents and their families communicate better with one another.
Dr. Brewton earned his bachelor's degree in neural science with a minor in chemistry from New York University, attending on an honors scholarship and graduating cum laude. During his time at NYU, he was an undergraduate research scholar at the Center for Neural Science and published an article on cytoskeletal plasticity and apoptosis in brain research, earning an honorable mention award from the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship Foundation. Prior to medical school, Dr. Brewton conducted research in neural electrophysiology at the Marine Biology Laboratory; and in medical school, he earned the Truman G. Blocker Research Scholarship and William Todd Midget Memorial Scholarship. He completed further training in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, where he served as chief fellow.
Dr. Brewton is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Prior to joining St. Luke's, he cared for pediatric patients in Eugene, OR as an outpatient child psychiatrist and adult patients as an attending psychiatrist on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. He also worked at a privately managed outpatient psychiatric clinic in Bellevue, WA.
