About Richard Lee Biggs

Biography

Richard (Lee) Biggs, DO, MPH, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist experienced in obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecological surgery, urogynecology and healthcare leadership.

Dr. Biggs retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of captain, having completed assignments at sea and tours in Italy, Virginia, South Carolina, Afghanistan, Guam, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC.

Dr. Biggs worked for HCA Healthcare as a physician executive and chief medical officer after the Navy. In his Florida practice he became the highest volume surgeon in the region while maintaining obstetric services as a laborist at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Biggs earned his bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and a master’s in public health from George Washington University. He grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and is married with two children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, cycling, wood working, home renovation, travel and community volunteering.
