About Sarah Armstrong

Biography

Sarah Armstrong, DPT is a physical therapist with special interests in orthopedics, cancer rehabilitation, and lymphedema management. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Idaho Chapter, and has earned her Otago Exercise Program (for balance) certification. Additionally, she served as a charge therapist at St. Luke’s Wood River.

Her research includes “Lymphedema Therapy for the Treatment of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome” with Dr. Roger Allen, focusing on how physical and occupational therapists can play a vital role in maximizing function and minimizing the experience of pain with complex and chronic pain syndromes.

Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Sarah spent 10 years with the U.S. Forest Service, 7 years of that as a wildland firefighter on an interagency hotshot crew and helirappel crews.

Sarah earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound, where she was a NCAA First Team All American Rower. After her career with the Forest Service, she returned to the University of Puget Sound to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy. Her personal interests include coaching for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation Nordic Team, skiing (she holds two All American titles as a Nordic skier), mountain biking, running, rafting, and spending time outdoors with her friends and family.
