Did you know that experts recommend preparing for pregnancy one to three months before conception? That’s because a healthy pregnancy begins with a healthy mom. With a little planning, you can eliminate a lot of the fear and worry that can accompany the early stages of pregnancy.
Congratulations, you’re pregnant! Now comes the fun part. Discover what you can expect, and prepare yourself for the common challenges many parents face during the coming months. At St. Luke’s, we’re here to help you every step of the way.
Labor and delivery can be intense and emotional, but it doesn’t have to be frightening. We’ll help you take the worry out of the experience by discussing your concerns, explaining your options, and respecting you and your baby. Find out how a little advanced planning can make the transition from pregnancy to parenthood easier.
The six weeks after your baby is born, known as the postpartum period, are a time of great transition. You’ll need time to heal, bond with your baby, and adjust to this new stage of your life. We can help with everything from how to install a car seat to education on the signs of postpartum depression. Let us support you during this amazing period in your life.
Our certified nurse-midwives are advanced-practice registered nurses who have specialized education and training in both nursing and midwifery. A nurse-midwife functions as the primary care provider for a woman and her baby during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Midwives most often provide care for healthy women whose pregnancies are uncomplicated and not high risk. You can see our certified nurse-midwives in Boise, Meridian, and Jerome, and they work closely with a physician at every stage of your pregnancy.
