A Unique Delivery Experience, Close to Home

St. Luke's Nampa Hospital Opens in October

Our new hospital will offer a patient-centered delivery experience with large family suites that can be used both for delivery and bonding with your new arrival. We'll also have an onsite newborn intensive care unit (NICU) to support babies born prematurely or with medical issues.


Providers who will deliver babies at St. Luke's Nampa are currently accepting patients who are pregnant or planning for pregnancy.

    Biography

    Phillip Agrusa, MD received his bachelor's degree from UC Irvine and accepted a naval scholarship to attend Georgetown University School of Medicine. He delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Agrusa met his wife during his residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and they have two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, hunting, and fishing.

    Biography

    Scott Armstrong, MD received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Olaf College. Dr. Armstrong has special practice interests in the management of pregnancy, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and pelvic reconstructive surgery. He delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Armstrong and his wife enjoy spending time with their son in many outdoor activities.

    Biography

    Tracey Kopperud, DO received her bachelor's degree in biology from Luther College. Dr. Kopperud’s professional interests include general obstetrics and gynecologic surgery. She delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Outside of work Dr. Kopperud enjoys snow skiing, hiking, and spending time in the outdoors with her husband. She loves traveling abroad and exploring Idaho.

    Biography

    Rachel Oliver, MD enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. She delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Oliver grew up the daughter of missionaries, living in Mexico as well as various parts of the United States. She became fluent in Spanish at a young age and so decided to attend medical school in Mexico. She also completed medical training in the United States at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. She and her husband have two sons and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, such as skiing and hiking.

    Biography

    Tasha Parker, MSN, CNM has a passion for empowering and educating women about their options for childbirth and health and wellness throughout their lives. She delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Tasha earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Lincoln University in Missouri and her master’s degree in nursing/nurse midwifery from Frontier Nursing University. She has worked in women’s health her entire career as a labor and delivery nurse, case manager, and outpatient OB-GYN nurse. She worked as a nurse-midwife and preventive/public health advanced practice nurse in South Carolina before moving to Boise.

    Biography

    Lee Parsons, MD delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Parsons was born and raised in Burbank, CA. He earned his bachelor's degree at Lewis and Clark College. He and his wife have three children and support mission work locally and in Mexico.

    Biography

    Darren Pittard, MD has training in both routine and high risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. His special interests include laparoscopic hysterectomy and infertility evaluation and management. He delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Pittard received his bachelor's degree in biology at Kennesaw State University and has served as an OB/GYN with the Air Force, including four years at Mountain Home Air Force Base. He was born in Mountain Home and raised in California and Georgia. He loves spending time with his wife and their four children, as well as enjoying the outdoors, running, cycling, and reading a good book.

  • Midwifery

    Biography

    Helene Reusser, MSN, CNM has professional interests in physiologic birth and the care of menopausal women. She believes in evidence-based care, and that women have options in birthing and support in labor. Helene delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Helene says of her practice philosophy that, "Women have a right to respectful, individualized care in a supportive environment. Our job as nurse-midwives is to provide that care while educating our patients so they can make informed choices. As a CNM, I strive to give women the birth they want, whether that is low-tech and non-interventive or supporting women who desire epidural anesthesia."

    Helene earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Boise State University, her bachelor's degree in nursing from Seattle University, and her master’s degree in nurse midwifery from the University of Utah. After graduate school she moved to Rexburg, Idaho, and practiced as a nurse-midwife in conjunction with a physician. After years of attending births and caring for women in eastern Idaho, she moved to Boise to work as a nurse-midwife at St. Luke's.

    Biography

    Tamara Rolan, MSN, CNM provides care throughout pregnancy and childbirth, and general well-woman services. She has special interests and expertise in labor support, teen pregnancy, and women's health. Tamara delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017. She feels it's a privilege and an honor to care for women and their families. Tamara says, "I truly believe in the midwifery model of being 'with woman': Every woman has the right to make informed choices and be supported in their pregnancy and well woman care."

    Tamara gained experience as a volunteer doula. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her bachelor's degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University. She completed her midwifery training at Frontier Nursing University.

    Harmony Schroeder, MD has special interests in pediatric gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, and vaginal surgery, in addition to the full range of obstetrics and gynecology. She delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Schroeder received her bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology from St. Olaf College. She and her husband are both physicians and are busy raising their triplets. In her spare time, she enjoys science fiction, astronomy, and camping.

    Biography

    Becky Uranga, MD has professional interest in obstetrics and prenatal care, adolescent gynecology, vaginal and laparoscopic hysterectomy and research related to patient decision making. She delivers babies at St. Luke's Meridian and will also deliver at St. Luke's Nampa when the new birthing suites open in October 2017.

    Dr. Uranga received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of Portland. After college she completed a year of service with AmeriCorps in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Her time outside work is spent skiing, running, biking, fishing and spending time with her husband and their dogs.
