Using a home safety checklist is a great way to know that you're doing all you can to keep your home safe and prevent falls.

A checklist guides you through your home and helps you look for things that can cause you to trip and fall.

And it gives you tips on how to fix them.

Home safety checklists are easy to find.

You can go online, get one at your senior center, or ask your doctor for one.

You might even get one from a friend.

Mary works hard to help her husband Arthur stay healthy.

One day over coffee, a friend showed Mary a home safety checklist.

She had no idea that her home had so many hidden dangers.

So, list in hand, she and Arthur take a tour of their house.

They get rid of throw rugs, move pots to a lower shelf, and put night-lights in the hall.

Using a home safety checklist can help you make your home safe, keep your independence, and have more good days.
