ALERT

Due to the overwhelming surge in COVID-19 cases and the strain it has placed on health care capacity in the communities we serve, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has activated crisis standards of care statewide. We are open and available to see patients, but you may experience delays at our ERs, hospitals, and clinics. We appreciate your patience. Access more info on COVID testing, vaccination, visitor policy, hospitalization data, and FAQs.

Cystic fibrosis (CF)

Cystic fibrosis (CF)

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a chronic and progressive disease, often diagnosed in childhood, that causes mucus to become thick and sticky. The mucus builds up and clogs passages in the lungs, pancreas, and many other organs in the body.

There is no cure for CF, but early diagnosis and new treatments are helping people live longer. Management of the disease varies from person to person and generally focuses on treating respiratory and digestive problems to prevent infection and other problems.
