ALERT

We now accept walk-ins at designated COVID-19 sites during vaccination days and hours. You may still schedule your vaccination if you choose, or walk up to our mobile vaccination clinic which is open to everyone! Note: we require masks in all St. Luke's facilities, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. This helps us provide safe care in a safe environment for all patients. Access more information on COVID testing, visitor policy, safety practices, hospitalization data, and FAQs.

Stroke

A stroke happens when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or bursts. Without blood and the oxygen it carries, part of the brain starts to die. Then the part of the body controlled by that area of the brain can't work properly.

Brain damage can start within minutes of a stroke. But quick treatment can help limit brain damage and increase the chance of a full recovery.
