Occupational Health Services

The occupational health services team at St. Luke's works with large industrial employers, small businesses, and those in between. Our goals are to restore health, optimize functional capacity, and minimize the negative impact a work injury/illness can have on your employee’s life and your bottom line. Work Injury/Illness Treatment and Management

  • Board-certified in occupational medicine and emergency medicine
  • Physician assistants and nurse practitioners that specialize in occupational medicine 
  • A proactive philosophy in returning injured workers safely to the job and minimizing time loss and OSHA recordable injuries
  • Case specialist to facilitate communication between patient, employer, and insurer
  • Detailed activity status report sent to the employer and surety within 10 minutes of checkout
  • Seven convenient locations throughout our region that specialize in occupational medicine
  • Additional locations in our rural areas through partnership                                                         
  • After-hours care coordinated with emergency and urgent care locations

Physicals and Medical Surveillance

  • Licensed medical examiners for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to complete Division of Transportation physical exams 
  • Pre-placement exams focused on job demand and work environment, that include a comprehensive occupational health history
  • Pre-placement functional screening performed by physical and occupational therapists to determine if applicant is physically able to perform the essential job functions
  • Support for an employer’s occupational health and safety program by providing respiratory questionnaire review, medical examination, and respiratory fitness evaluation
  • Provide assistance in meeting OSHA regulations with periodic medical surveillance and immunizations 
  • On-site visits by our experts to address potential hazards and other occupational health concerns

Drug and Alcohol Screening Services

  • Two in-house certified medical review officers (MROs)
  • Partner with national SAMSHA-certified laboratory that assures accurate, legally defensible results in a timely manner
  • Results reporting system that links authorized individuals with their drug screen data and enables more efficient management of a substance abuse testing program
  • Training available:
    • Reasonable suspicion training
    • Designated employer representative (DER) Training
    • Urine collection, breath alcohol, and saliva screening
  • Program set-up and administration, with random consortium management
