Tobacco Free Living

St. Luke's has two options to support you in quitting tobacco based on your learning style and preference. Programs are evidence-based and all employees and spouses enrolled in the St. Luke's Health System employee health care plan are eligible to participate. In addition, nicotine replacement products are a covered benefit.

In Your Home — Tobacco Free U

Designed for busy St. Luke's employees and spouses, Tobacco Free U combines health coaching over the phone with a DVD, tools and information you need to stop smoking or chewing tobacco. Health coaching provides reinforcement for healthy behaviors, such as regular physical activity, good nutrition, and effective coping strategies. The program can also be used to prevent relapse and maintain a nicotine-free lifestyle.

1:1 Support — Tobacco Treatment Clinic

Using tobacco treatment aids to quit significantly increases success and reduces nicotine dependence. This program utilizes intensive counseling with a provider and development of an individualized medication approach to suppress withdrawal symptoms and cravings. In addition, the St. Luke's Health System employee health care plan covers up to five 1:1 sessions with a tobacco treatment health coach. With health coaching over the phone, this service can be accessed from anywhere across the health system.

Healthy U Quit Plan

You can qualify for a health insurance premium rebate by completing a tobacco treatment program and setting a quit date. Nicotine replacement therapy or medication is optional.
