Our experienced medical professionals offer primary and specialty care services. Our internal medicine providers care for adults, including routine and preventative health checks, diagnosis and treatment when a medical problem is first suspected, and ongoing management of chronic illnesses. We specialize in arthritis, blood diseases, cancer, cholesterol management, diabetes, hormonal disorders, heart health and hypertension, osteoporosis, respiratory disorders, and more.

And, our visiting specialists offer a wide variety of specialty services close to home, including:

  • Cardiology - cardiac consultations and routine examinations, as well as diagnostic services such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac event monitors
  • Ear, nose, and throat - care for adults and kids with ear infections, hearing problems, sinus disorders, allergies, skin cancer, and more
  • Gastroenterology - care for disorders within the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, and pancreas.
  • General surgery - advanced laparoscopic surgery; thyroid, breast, and thoracic surgery; endoscopy; and minimally-invasive varicose vein procedures
  • Nephrology - care for people facing kidney issues such as kidney injury, kidney stones, electrolyte abnormalities, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal disease
  • Pediatrics - well baby exams, immunizations, diabetes management, and asthma care; as well as school and sports physicals

    Brian S. Berk, MD has particular interest in caring for patients with all types of chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. He also manages patient care after a liver transplant. Dr. Berk completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

    Kenneth A. Cogen, MD practiced nephrology in the Seattle area prior to moving to Idaho. Dr. Cogen's interests include hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and renal transplantation.

    Jason R. Greenhalgh, MD specializes in providing a wide range of urologic care to male and female patients of all ages. He uses the da Vinci® robotic surgical system to perform prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, and pyeloplasty.

    Biography

    Jenna Hoffman, AuD focuses on cochlear implant rehabilitation, evoked potentials, and pediatric evaluation and rehabilitation. She has unique research experience in several areas including the use of cochlear implants together with hearing aids and hearing loss in the percussionist population. She earned her doctorate degree in audiology from the University of Louisville and her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. She was a clinical fellow for one year at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona before joining Idaho Elks Hearing and Balance Center.

    Biography

    Robert Jackson, MD has special interest in the treatment of male infertility and men’s health issues such as erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and hypogonadism. He has advanced training in the surgical management of erectile dysfunction and microsurgical techniques for varicocele repair and vasectomy reversal. He also treats a full spectrum of general urologic conditions, including voiding dysfunction, nephrolithiasis, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Dr. Jackson uses the UroLift® System to treat BPH as an alternative to drugs or more invasive therapies.

    Dr. Jackson earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and is a member of the American Urologic Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Sexual Medicine Society of North America.

    Biography

    Russell Mayes, DO, FAO-CO is board certified in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery. He treats both children and adults for many disorders involving the ears, nose, and throat (ENT). His main areas of focus include sinus and allergy disorders, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and head and neck cancer. He also sees patients with problems involving the tonsils, ear infections, hoarseness, and hearing loss.

    Joseph Rosenblum, DO, FACC, FACP is a specialist in cardiovascular medicine. His mentors were the first physicians to perform angioplasty in the United States. Dr. Rosenblum has served as a deputy sheriff mounted police officer and hosted a local radio show that discussed health and wellness.

    Biography

    Kara C. Taggart, MD is a member of the American Urological Association. She practices general adult urology, seeing a wide range of patients and the full spectrum of urologic diseases. She has a special interest in kidney stones and the endoscopic management of bladder tumors and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

    Dr. Taggart joined St. Luke's after serving in the Navy as a urologist. She is a captain in the Navy Reserve and is the Navy Reserve Urology Specialty Leader to the Surgeon General.

    Biography

    Maggie Vuturo, MD, is the only urologist in the Treasure Valley who is board certified by the American Board of Urology in both general urology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS). She specializes in all aspects of adult female and male incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, neurogenic bladder, post-prostatectomy incontinence, sacral nerve stimulation, da Vinci® robotic sacrocolpopexy, intravesical BOTOX®, neurourology, and complex urodynamics. She has a special interest in adults with voiding dysfunction due to neurogenic conditions such as spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. She also treats general urologic conditions such as stones.

    Dr. Vuturo earned her medical degree and completed her urology residency at the University of Arizona, and completed her fellowship in female urology and male voiding dysfunction at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. She takes pride in getting to know and forming relationships with her patients to help improve their quality of life.

    Monica Weston, MS, AuD, CCC-A/SLP is interested in pediatric and adult diagnostics, hearing aids, vestibular testing, and cochlear implant rehabilitation. She has worked as a speech language pathologist with children and currently specializes in aural rehabilitation and central auditory processing. 

    Monica earned her master's degree from the University of Utah and her doctorate from Utah State University. She completed her fellowship at the Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children in San Antonio.

    Biography

    Seth N. Wheeler, MD has special interests in esophageal motility, liver disease, and general gastroenterology. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Rochester.
