St. Luke's Clinic – Interventional Radiology: Meridian

Our clinic provides pre- and post-interventional radiology visits. We consult on Y90 embolizations, chemo embolizations, ablations, and other IR treatments and therapies that have less risk, less pain, and shorter recovery times than traditional surgery.

    Biography

    Joseph Campbell, PA-C earned his master’s degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. Prior to completing the program he earned a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in nuclear medicine and an associate’s degree from Boise State University in radiologic science.

    In his free time, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and children. Some of his other interests include the outdoors and sports. Joe is an avid fly fisherman and is very active in his children’s recreational activities.

    Biography

    Sean Carr, MD practices all aspects of interventional radiology, including biopsies, embolizations, and ablations (radiofrequency and cryoablation). His primary focus is work with oncology patients and patients with liver and renal disease.

    Dr. Carr completed an interventional radiology fellowship at the Dotter Interventional Institute at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is CAQ certified by the American Board of Radiology in Interventional and Vascular Radiology.

    Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Carr enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his wife and children.

    Biography

    Tyler Harris, MD, RPVI enjoys practicing all aspects of interventional radiology, including minimally invasive cancer treatments such as thermal ablation, radioembolization (Y90), and transarterial chemoembolization. He also enjoys treating peripheral and pulmonary vascular malformations, and hepatobiliary and renal disease.

    Dr. Harris served briefly at Asan Medical Center in South Korea, gaining experience in liver-directed therapies. He has a passion for treating deep veins, and has worked to coordinate care of St. Luke's patients with acute venous thromboembolic events, including pulmonary ebolus and deep vein thrombosis.

    Dr. Harris enjoys hiking, traveling, biking, and spending time with his family.

    Biography

    Bill Jones, PA-C earned his bachelor's degree in advanced radiologic sciences from Weber State University in their radiology practitioner assistant program. He earned his master's degree with honors in the physician assistant program at Nova Southeastern University. He is certified as a registered radiologist assistant through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

    In his free time, Bill likes to spend time with his family and enjoying the outdoors.

    Biography

    Cory Martin, PA-C received his bachelor's degree at Indiana University, and completed pre-med/pre-PA coursework at IUPUI, the University of New England, and Ivy Tech State College. He earned his master's degree in physician assistant studies at the University of St. Francis.

    Cory has a broad range of knowledge and procedural skills in a wide variety of medical settings, including general and orthopedic surgery, emergency/urgent care medicine, and internal medicine. He is dedicated to integrity and ongoing education.

    Andrew Peterson, MD has a clinical interest in interventional oncology and the treatment of both malignant and malign masses through minimally invasive treatment. He practices all aspects of interventional radiology, including image-guided biopsy, vascular access, dialysis access, and hepatobiliary interventions.

    In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

    Frannie Proffitt, PA-C earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the Rocky Mountain College. Prior to completing the program, she earned her associate's degree in radiologic science at Boise State University.

    In her free time, Frannie enjoys weekend hikes with her dog. She also enjoys photography and takes her camera out as much as possible. She travels frequently and has recently been to Fiji, Costa Rica, Europe, Africa, and the Galapagos for wilderness medicine training as well as photography opportunities.

    Kevin Shearing, PA-C has experience providing care to patients of all ages, with significant experience in adult critical care, pediatric, and emergency room settings.

    Kevin earned a bachelor's degree from Boise State University and a master's degree in clinical health services from the University of Washington. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and hiking.

    Biography

    Whitney Shofner Michalsky, MD has a special interest in women’s interventions, the treatment of venous disease, and complex IVC filter retrieval. She also has advanced training in complex retrograde transvenous obliteration of gastric varices and treatment of venous malformations.

    In her spare time, Dr. Shofner Michalsky is a health and fitness guru who enjoys running, biking, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and daughter.

    Biography

    Paul Sonntag, MD specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive treatments for a variety of conditions. His areas of particular interest include liver-directed therapy to treat primary and metastatic liver tumors with Y90, chemoembolization, and microwave ablation. He also specializes in the cryoablation and microwave ablation of renal cell carcinoma.

    Dr. Sonntag is interested in the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and performs prostate artery embolization. He is a member of St. Luke’s Lymphovascular Malformations workgroup and performs sclerotherapy and embolization for patients with lymphatic, venous, and arteriovenous malformations. He manages patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension, and performs TIPS and retrograde obliteration of gastric varices.

    In his free time, Dr. Sonntag enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children.
