Jennifer Gruenenfelder, MD works to form long-term relationships with her patients to improve their quality of life. Prior to moving to Idaho, she spent 19 years with a large urology group practice in California where she was actively involved in research trials on new treatments for overactive bladder. She has extensive experience with the Axonics® treatment system for urinary and bowel incontinence and her practice has been recognized as an Axonics Center of Excellence for the quality of her patient outcomes.
Michael Jacobson, MD specializes in kidney stone disease, urologic cancers, and minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). He has particular expertise in robotic surgery for kidney tumors and focuses on helping patients recover with minimal disruption to their lives.
Dr. Jacobson earned both his PhD in chemistry and medical degree from the University of Washington, where his background in laboratory medicine led him to pursue clinical care. He graduated magna cum laude as an undergraduate and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi.
Dr. Jacobson practiced at high-volume trauma centers in California helping medically underserved populations—experiences that continue to shape his values around equity and whole-person care. He is also deeply interested in the role of nutrition, movement and emotional wellbeing in preventing and managing urologic conditions.
Dr. Jacobson has been active in teaching residents, medical students and advanced practice providers, and values the collaborative future of medicine.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jacobson is a road and gravel cyclist, a dog person, a cook (especially Japanese food) and learning new languages.
Derrick Rowe, PA-C provides treatment and care for a variety of urologic problems. He has a special interest in genitourinary cancers, male and female voiding dysfunction, and kidney stone disease with an emphasis on kidney stone prevention.
Derrick earned his master's degree in physician assistant studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Kenneth Verlage, MD focuses on educating patients on their conditions and working with them to find the options that work best for their specific cases.
Dr. Verlage is originally from Texas and was in private practice in Portland before deciding to relocate to Boise where he plans to remain long term.
