Our physicians are fellowship trained, board certified, and highly skilled in general orthopedics, and have sub-specialty training and interests in areas such as knee and hip replacement, pediatric orthopedics, and sports medicine. Our team also manages a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including scoliosis, osteoporosis, fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, and deformities from birth defects or trauma.

Our team also includes pediatric specialists to support your child’s bone, muscle, and joint health. We provide care for a wide range of conditions including fractures, trauma, scoliosis, congenital and acquired deformities, and neuromuscular and other hereditary, genetic, and developmental disorders. We also offer expertise in sports medicine, abnormal gait or walking abnormalities, bone tumors, and rheumatologic conditions like arthritis, bursitis, and tendonitis. No matter the cause, we’ll work with your child to reduce pain and optimize function and mobility.

    Biography

    Krysten Bell, MD specializes in pediatric orthopedic surgical care, including trauma, complex hip deformities in children and young adults, scoliosis and other spine deformities, pediatric foot and ankle surgery, and pediatric sports injuries. She also works with neuromuscular conditions like cerebral palsy.

    Krysten is a candidate active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Her research interests include outcomes following periacetabular osteotomy for residual hip dysplasia and surgical treatment of severe slipped capital femoral epiphysis.

    Steven B. Care, MD, AAOS, FACS, ABOS specializes in hand and microvascular surgery. He completed his training in hand and microvascular surgery through the Cleveland Combined Hand Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Cleveland Level I Trauma Center - Metrohealth Medical Center.

    Tyson R. Jakobson, PA-C, MPAS works closely with Dr. Louis Murdock in the Hand and Wrist Clinic. He primarily sees patients with hand and wrist issues, including congenital, sports injuries, orthopedic injuries, and general hand and wrist complaints. 

    Tyson is a clinical preceptor to physician assistant students as adjunct faculty with Touro University Nevada in Henderson, NV. He worked with the Bogus Basin Ski patrol for two seasons prior to physician assistant school and still works closely with the patrol. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Boise State University and completed his physician assistant training at Touro University Nevada.

    Biography

    Dustin I. Judd, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and microsurgery. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center. He spent an additional year specializing in hand and microsurgery at the Joseph H. Boyes Hand and Microsurgery Fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

    Some of Dr. Judd’s previous research includes evaluating hand and upper extremity injuries in rock climbers and new treatments for thumb arthritis. Dr. Judd enjoys spending time with his family, playing various sports, and volunteering as a youth coach and mentor for other youth programs.

    Biography

    Howard A. King, MD, AAOS, ABOS has special interests in pediatric spinal deformity, pediatric and adult scoliosis, and reconstructive spine surgery. Dr. King is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Association. He has lectured and participated as a guest surgeon at numerous spine centers around the world. He also served on the academic and clinical faculty at the University of Washington Department of Orthopaedics.

    Andrew Moore, MD practices general orthopedics with an emphasis on trauma, fracture care, sports medicine, and joint replacement.

    Dr. Moore is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and a veteran of the Air Force, where he reached the rank of colonel. He served multiple combat tours, including in Iraq and Bosnia. Dr. Moore is an assistant professor of surgery for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, former residency staff at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and served six years on the Board of Directors for the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is active with the Yale Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

    Biography

    Louis E. Murdock, MD, CAQ is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and wrist pathologies in a wide range of patients, from young athletes to the elderly. He is an active member of both the American Society of Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his residency in orthopedics at the University of Utah and completed his hand surgery fellowship at the University of New Mexico. 

    Throughout Dr. Murdock’s educational experience, he was fortunate to find mentors and role models. While he continues to seek mentors in his professional and personal life, he also mentors students and others who seek a relationship. Dr. Murdock has coached Science Olympiad middle school students and has also welcomed medically motivated high school and college undergraduates into his clinic to provide them with exposure to the world of medical practice. Currently, Dr. Murdock has an adjunct appointment at Boise State University. 

    During the past five years, Dr. Murdock and his colleagues have been granted two patents through the U.S. Patent Office and they remain inspired to innovate and bring forward ideas that will improve their patients’ lives. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Murdock is pleased that his core values are common among the people of Idaho, where he has made his home for many years.

    Marlene Olson, NP specializes in the evaluation and treatment of the foot and ankle. Her practice includes education and guidance to help people manage diabetes through prevention of recurrent ulcerations, including evaluation of footwear, callus management, and foot assessment.

    Sean Page, PA earned his bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science from Idaho State University and his master's degree in physician assistant studies from Midwestern University. Since returning to Idaho, he has been working in family practice and urgent care.

    Jason Robison, MD, POSNA has special interest in pediatric orthopedic care, trauma, foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, and complex deformity correction. He also specializes in non-surgical and surgical treatment of complex deformities of the spine and hip in children and young adults. Dr. Robison is member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Association of North America (POSNA). His research interests have focused on hip deformity in young, active adults and the outcomes of non-joint replacement surgeries. He has authored textbook chapters on orthopedic trauma and the management of complex pediatric spinal deformity.

    Biography

    Kevin G. Shea, MD, AAOS, ABOS has professional interest in orthopedic surgery and pediatric, adolescent, and adult sports medicine. He specializes in treatment of knee ligament and cartilage injuries, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), fractures, and pediatric trauma. His research interests and publication topics include OCD, anatomy of knee injury in children and adolescents, and evidence-based analysis of injury prevention programs. He serves as team physician for Rocky Mountain High School.

    Dr. Shea is vice chair of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Clinical Practice Guideline Committee for the Treatment of OCD. He is a founding member of the OCD Study Group of North America, and serves on evidence-based practice committees for AAOS and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Association of North America, and the Publications Committee for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

    His fellowships include AO/Trauma (Switzerland), pediatric orthopaedics (San Diego), and Ilizarov (Italy). He was a 2008 AOSSM South American traveling sports medicine fellow and a 2009 AAOS leadership fellow.

    Jeremy P. Toomey, MD is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and microsurgery. He earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Montreat College and his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Nebraska/Creighton University Health Foundation and trained for one year through the Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

    Amy J. Waselchuk, PA-C specializes in orthopedic hand and wrist care and has more than 20 years of experience working in orthopedics. She works closely with Dr. Steven Care and sees new, follow-up, and post-operative patients. Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been active in the Idaho Academy of Physician Assistants and served two terms on the PA Advisory Committee of the Idaho Board of Medicine. She has also done volunteer work in Ethiopia with Orthopaedics Overseas.
