Description

Nicole Fox, MD will be presenting and discussing the complexities of women's and maternal mental health associated with substance use disorder. Mental health services for this population is important, since a majority of women with substance use issues also have mental health concerns. Understanding and treating mental health needs, trauma needs, and substance use is required for successful patient outcomes.

Dr. Fox is a board certified psychiatrist whose practice is focused on caring for acutely ill patients. She joined St. Luke's to develop the consultative and hospital-based psychiatric medicine service. She works in clinical care, program development, and she oversees St. Luke's rotating psychiatric residents and medical students. She is co-chair of the Behavioral Health Affinity Council and participates in numerous quality improvement endeavors including co-chairing the Safe Care Safe Culture work group and collaborating closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine team to improve access to mental health services for their patients. She also serves on the board of the Idaho Psychiatric Association.
