Our spine surgery class is meant for you and your support person to better prepare you both for your upcoming spine surgery.
During class, you will learn about:
Special equipment used on the day of surgery and during hospitalization that you will need to obtain before surgery
Preparations you'll need to make at home to ensure a safe recovery environment
Methods for managing pain, nausea, and constipation
Activities to prevent blood clots
Length of hospital stay and what to expect upon discharge
Safety while moving and changing positions
Methods for reducing swelling and discomfort after surgery
Plans for a safe discharge home
Special equipment needed prior to going home
This class is for patients and their support person. We strongly recommend you attend with a support person: a friend or family member who will support you through your joint replacement surgery and recovery.
Schedule
Tuesdays from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursdays from 7:45 to 9 a.m.
Classes may be canceled for holidays.

Registration for in person attendance is required. Please speak with your surgeon about registering for a class or call the number below to schedule.
Attend prior to your spine surgery.
Attendance will be logged and your surgeon will be notified of your participation.
It is highly recommended for your support person to also attend with you.
Your support can also watch our virtual class option at any time should they be unable to attend.
