We are experiencing high call volumes in response to expanded COVID vaccination scheduling. Vaccine supplies in Idaho are limited. Please do not call St. Luke’s clinics directly regarding COVID-19 vaccination. Appointments are made through myChart as vaccine is available; we are not able to accommodate walk-ins. HypnoBirthing® The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique. This rewarding, relaxing, stress-free method of birthing is based on the belief that babies should enter the world in an atmosphere of gentleness, calm, and joy.

This 5-week class is taught by a registered nurse and certified HypnoBirthing practitioner. It's a complete childbirth program and includes education on the birthing process, deep relaxation, imagery, your birthing options, and more.

Whether you're having your first baby or want to try a new method after a previous birthing experience, HypnoBirthing can help you prepare for the best birthing experience possible. Even if your labor requires medical assistance or cesarean birth, the skills you acquire in your HypnoBirthing class will help you achieve a fulfilling and joyful experience. When you are properly prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally, you can birth your baby in a more comfortable manner.

In these classes, you and your birthing partner will learn:

  1. The normal process of birth, and how your body and baby are perfectly designed for birthing naturally and comfortably,
  2. Relaxation, guided imagery, and self-hypnosis techniques to eliminate fear and tension that can impede the natural flow of the birthing process,
  3. Special breathing techniques, labor positions, massage, and other comfort measures,
  4. Bonding with your preborn baby, and the transition to parenthood,
  5. Discussion of special circumstances that may require medical assistance,
  6. Birth planning options and positive communication with your healthcare providers, and
  7. How to create a serene birthing environment.

You also will receive the book "HypnoBirthing: a Celebration of Life," imagery CDs and scripts, and birth planning forms.

The HypnoBirthing Advantage returns birthing to the beautiful, peaceful experience nature intended. It creates an integral role for your birthing companion, helps you release and replace fears and inhibitions, promotes a comfortable pregnancy and better sleep, reduces fatigue and pain during labor leaving you fresh, alert, and calm throughout your birthing time, and provides for a more rapid post-natal recovery and a more content, happy baby, giving you lifelong skills for stress reduction and relaxation-a must for all new parents.

100% payment is due at time of registration.
