Description

Early mobility program consisting of adapted electric cars for children with mobility impairments. This build will be a basic modification only-additional modifications may be completed with the assist of your current therapy staff, if needed.

Prerequisites

This class is for children and parents of children with mobility or motor delays. Child must be less than 6 years old or less than 65 pounds.

Registration Instructions

A willing participant from your family needs to be present for the full build time (4 hours) and be an active member of the modifications taking place to the car (including basic structural changes, i.e. drilling, wiring, etc). Your child needs to be present for at least the last 2 hours of the program to allow for appropriate positioning and adjustments to be made (they may be present the whole time, however plan accordingly-snacks, toys, etc.).

Special Instructions

All parents who register to obtain a car for their child, must take their child to be measured for a car on February 14th to guarantee that a car will be available on the build date of March 14th. Once registered, the parents need to call and make an appointment with Shanna Herman, PT at St. Luke's Children's Pavilion in Boise (208-385-3420) to have their child measured. All CHILDREN MUST BE MEASURED TO PARTICIPATE. The sooner parents have their child measured, the greater the likelihood they will have a car for their child.
