To meet the needs of a growing population, St. Luke’s is on the move in Buhl.

In operation since January 2014, St. Luke’s primary Buhl clinic will be relocated, moving from its current location at 529 Broadway Ave. South to new space on Burley Avenue, and expanded. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the new clinic is set for Jan. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m.

X-ray and lab services will be available at the new clinic and there will be space for behavioral health and other specialty services. State-of-the-art X-ray equipment will be made possible through generous donations by community members and organizations, including the Dart Foundation. Insight Architects designed the space.

“This new facility brings together much-needed services under one roof,” said Dr. Bryan Mason, a family practice physician who has been practicing in Buhl for the past four years.

“With new X-ray imaging technology, lab services and behavioral health services in one place, we will be able to increase our ability to provide outstanding care for our patients.”

The facility will allow for the addition of a second family practice provider, expanding access for children and their parents and grandparents.

The new clinic allows St. Luke’s to continue to provide care close to home and to build access to family medicine, which is especially meaningful to Dr. Mason.

“I grew up in a small town, and after medical school, I was eager to practice medicine in a small community, to help remove barriers to accessing health care and serve others in need,” he said. “There is no doubt that many rural communities across the country have challenges when it comes to accessing health care.”

Every three years, St. Luke’s conducts research into communities’ health needs. Priorities include access to health care, the prevention and treatment of mental health issues and the prevention and treatment of obesity and diabetes.

The new clinic, which will open for patients in February, will help address all those health needs through a patient-centered approach.
