MSTI Patient Spreads Cheer by Wearing Different Hats

By Michelle Bartlome, News and Community
December 21, 2017

A St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute patient found a fun way to lighten the mood for himself and others at MSTI.

Since October, Brian Halverson, 31, of Rupert has been coming to Twin Falls for testicular-cancer treatments.

To make his time spent at the cancer center more enjoyable, Halverson dressed up for his visits.

On Dec. 19, Halverson came in to MSTI Twin Falls dressed in a full Santa Claus suit.

It was his last chemotherapy treatment, and he wanted to make it special.

For the last three years, Halverson has gone to his children’s elementary schools as Santa.

However, this year he was unable to do that.

He said dressing up for treatment is a way to “brighten people’s days.”
