Healthgrades Ratings for St. Luke’s Hospitals

Healthgrades announced the following awards and designations for St. Luke’s Health System hospitals:

Treasure Valley

  • One of Healthgrades’ America’s 100 Best Hospitals for cardiac care in 2014.
  • Recipient of the Healthgrades Cardiac Care Excellence Award in 2014.
  • Ranked among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for cardiac care for the first time. St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian have received Healthgrades’ five-star rating for treatment of heart attacks for the past three years, for treatment of valve surgery for seven years in a row, for treatment of bypass surgery for the last three years, and for the treatment of heart failure for the last two years.
  • Recipient of Healthgrades Vascular Surgery Excellence Award for the sixth consecutive year.
  • Ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for vascular surgery for three years in a row, a five-star rating for carotid surgery for 10 years in a row, and a five-star rating for peripheral vascular bypass for three years in a row.
  • One of Healthgrades’ America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement for three years in a row.
  • Recipient of the Joint Replacement Excellence Award for four years in a row, ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for joint replacement four years in a row, and five-star ratings for total knee replacement six years in a row and total hip replacement four years in a row.
  • One of Healthgrades’ America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Critical Care for two years in a row.
  • Recipient of Healthgrades’ Critical Care Excellence Award for two consecutive years, ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for critical care for two years in a row, a five-star rating for treatment of sepsis for the third straight year, a five-star rating for the treatment of respiratory failure three years in a row, a five-star rating for stroke care for the second straight year, and a five-star rating for the treatment of pulmonary embolism for two years in a row.
  • Recipient of Healthgrades’ Pulmonary Care Excellence Award for the first time, a five-star rating for pneumonia for the first time, and a five-star rating for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for two consecutive years.
  • Recipient of Healthgrades’ Gastrointestinal Care Excellence award, a five-star rating for the treatment of pancreatitis for two consecutive years, and a five-star rating for the treatment of intestinal bleeding for the first time.
  • Recipient of Healthgrades’ General Surgery Excellence Award for the first time, a five-star rating for the treatment of esophageal and stomach surgeries for the first time, a five-star rating for the treatment of small intestine surgeries for the first time, and a five-star rating for the treatment of bowel obstruction for two consecutive years.
  • One of Healthgrades’ 100 Best Hospitals in 2014 for cardiac care, orthopedic care, and critical care.
  • Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards for cardiac care (new this year), vascular surgery (six years in a row), joint replacement (four years in a row), orthopedic surgery (new this year), critical care (two consecutive years), pulmonary care (new this year), stroke care (new this year), gastrointestinal care (new this year), and general surgery (new this year).

  • Five-star rating for treatment of stroke care for two consecutive years.
  • Five-star rating for treatment of carotid surgery for two consecutive years.
