This week, St. Luke’s MSTI hosted an event for breast cancer survivors to kick off breast cancer awareness month.  The program, Joyful, Healthy Living After Breast Cancer, was a celebration of living well, and featured speakers including St. Luke's Health System President and CEO Dr. David Pate, MSTI dietitian Rhone Levin, and keynote speaker Barbara Unell, founder of the national breast cancer survivorship organization, Back in the Swing USA.

More than 150 breast cancer survivors and their loved ones joined us at the beautiful Steuckle Sky Center at BSU to learn more about evidence-based wellness and healthy living tips after breast cancer.  Attendees also enjoyed healthy treats from the Back in the Swing cookbook, a guide to living life to the fullest.

The entire team at St. Luke’s MSTI is proud to support all lives touched by cancer. This October, please remind the women in your life to talk to their doctors about screening mammography. One out of every seven women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, and early detection is key to survival.
