Boise, IDAHO – St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian Medical Centers were the only Idaho hospitals to receive a 2012/2013 Consumer Choice Award from the National Research Corporation (NRC).This is the 11th year in a row that St. Luke’s has received the recognition. The award identifies hospitals that health care consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image in over 300 markets throughout the U.S.
“Creating an exemplary patient experience is at the forefront of all that we do,” said Chris Roth, CEO of St. Luke’s Boise/Meridian. “This honor is a validation that the efforts of our dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals, who strive to always provide the highest quality care, is not going unnoticed by the patients we serve.”
NRC determines winners by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings that are collected via surveys of 450,000 consumers asking their perceptions of 3,200 hospitals. From that survey 294 hospitals received the Consumer Choice Award.
“The Consumer Choice Awards recognizes hospitals that patients have rated as the most preferred places to receive care according to quality and image,” said Susan L. Henricks, president and chief operating officer for National research Corporation. “We congratulate the recipients of the Consumer Choice Awards and salute their efforts to improve performance. Because customer centric care is important across the continuum, we plan to extend this important recognition to additional care settings in the future.”
