HealthGrades Ratings for St. Luke's Hospitals

Today, HealthGrades announced the following awards and designations for St. Luke’s Health System hospitals:

Treasure Valley

  • Recipient of the Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award for four consecutive years.
  • Ranked among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for cardiac surgery (Boise and Meridian Medical Centers have been ranked among the top 10 percent in the nation for cardiac surgery four years in a row and have received HealthGrades’ five-star rating for treatment of heart attacks for the last two years, for valve surgery six years in a row, and for the first time for the treatment of heart failure!).
  • Recipient of the Joint Replacement Excellence Award for three years in a row.
    • Ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for joint replacement three years in a row.
    • Ranked #1 in Idaho for joint replacement three years in a row.
    • Ranked #1 in Idaho this year for spine surgery outcomes.
    • Five-star ratings for:
      • Overall orthopedic services three years in a row.
      • Spine surgery three years in a row.
      • Total knee replacement five years in a row.
      • Total hip replacement three years in a row.
      • Back and neck surgery three years in a row.
  • Vascular Surgery Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive year.
    • Ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for vascular surgery.
    • Ranked #1 in Idaho for nine consecutive years.
    • Five-star rating for carotid surgery nine years in a row.
    • Five-star rating for peripheral vascular bypass two years in a row.
  • Critical Care Excellence Award for the first time.
    • Ranked among the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for critical care.
    • Five-star rating for treatment of sepsis for the second straight year.
    • Five-star rating for the treatment of respiratory failure two years in a row.
    • Five-star rating for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
    • Five-star rating for stroke care this year!
    • Five-star rating for the treatment of pulmonary embolism.
  • Five-star rating for the treatment of bowel obstruction and pancreatitis.
Wood River
  • Five-star rating for spinal fusion three years in a row.
  • Five-star rating for treatment of pneumonia four years in a row.
Magic Valley
  • Five-star rating for hip fracture treatment three years in a row.
  • Five-star rating for stroke care.
