Court Rules in St. Luke's Favor

By Dr. David C. Pate, News and Community
December 18, 2012

I have great news for our St. Luke’s family and the patients we serve. Today, the judge presiding over the lawsuit brought by Saint Alphonsus and Treasure Valley Hospital ruled in our favor.

In his ruling, the judge did not find Saint Al’s arguments persuasive, and the request to stop our acquisition of Saltzer Medical Group has been denied. The next steps in the matter include preparations for a trial, set to begin July 29, 2013. To read the ruling, click here.

Saint Alphonsus Health System and Treasure Valley Hospital  brought the lawsuit against St. Luke's Health System in an attempt to prevent our acquisition of the Saltzer Medical Group.

Saltzer  voted overwhelmingly to join St. Luke's Health System because they are aligned with our vision. They want to be a part of our accountable care organization and to participate in our electronic health record, coordination of care, clinical integration, and new models of clinical care. Watch my message here explaining the outcome of today's ruling.
